Invisible Stains
Here at Dry Clean City of Vestavia Hills we post garment care information to keep our customers informed. Today’s post is next:
What Is An Invisible Stain?
Most stains are visible when still wet but can become invisible after they dry. Later as time passes or the garment is exposed to heat, a yellow or brown stain will appear. This is caused by the sugars from the original stain becoming oxidized or caramelized. It’s the same process that makes apple or banana slices turn brown after being exposed to air.If you know of an invisible stain on any of your garments please be sure to point them out to your counter associate when dropping off your dry cleaning. We will need to treat these stains prior to dry cleaning to help prevent these stains from setting and becoming permanent.
