Do Your Shirts Rip On the Elbows?

Now, Today’s Post:
WHY DO MY DRESS SHIRTS WEAR OUT ON THE ELBOWS?
This happens to be a very common issue that is caused by constantly resting your elbow on a desk top while working. Many office workers will rest their elbows on their desk as they use their computer mouse. This causes the fabric to wear thin just above the sleeve placket. The thin fabric will eventually rip when stressed by commercial laundering or your elbow bending. The shirt brand is really not a factor as all shirt brands are susceptible to being worn out at the elbows.
Starch also causes the cotton in your shirts to become prematurely weak and will shorten the life of your shirt. We recommend using light or no starch to extend the life of your shirts. The average dress shirt that goes to a commercial laundry has a life span of two years. Another recommendation to make your shirts last longer is to purchase enough shirts so you wear them less often over time. By doing this all of your shirts should go into a rotation of wearing and laundering on a less frequent basis.
